Cognassist is an award-winning company that offers apprenticeship and work-based learning providers a solution to identify, support and fund learners with additional learning needs.

Many people have hidden learning needs, which can affect their success in education and the workforce. These needs often go unaddressed due to multiple barriers, including lack of access and high costs of traditional cognitive assessments.

Valid for ages 16+, Cognassist is a digital cognitive assessment tool, developed by experts in neuroscience and educational psychology. It assesses Literacy and Numeracy, as well as six cognitive processing pathways: Executive Function, Visual Information Processing Speed, Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Memory, Visual Perception and Verbal Memory. These eight domains form the foundation of how we think and learn. If a learner identifies in one or more of these domains, they can access additional support specific to their identified needs. To date, we have assessed over 50,000 learners.

We want to increase awareness of neurodiversity in education. Everyone thinks differently, and we work to encourage organisations to become more inclusive. Through applied neuroscience training, our clients gain a greater understanding of how their learners think and learn. We also provide reasonable adjustments to support learners throughout their programme and during their end-point assessments.
Learners receive personalised support through monthly learning strategies. These strategies provide learners with new skills and help them to navigate different scenarios that they may face in their work and personal lives. We have a library of over 500 learning strategies, and each one is tailored to learners, depending on their identified needs and programme level (from 1 to 6, encompassing GSCE-level to degree-level learners).
